What’s up everyone? Bobby and Erik here. Welcome to our weekly mix show “The Smashcast”. Each week in “The Smashcast”, we will be featuring our radio mix from 101.1 fm’s Electric Playground along with a guest mix for the second half of the show. The guests range from being local up and coming Chicago or regional talent to well established internationally known produces. This week on the show we welcome Chicago based DJ, Rythmic. We met Rythmic last year while judging the emerging artists DJ battle series at Castle hosted by Phil Rizzo. We were instantly drawn to him as he displayed a style that is very similar to our own. Rythmic went on to win the entire Emerging artist series and open for numerous acts at on Castle’s main stage, Palladium, until the mega club eventually closed its door earlier this year. As for us we are happier then ever to be back working hard in the studio with almost 4 brand new originals ready to release. Currently we have our track “Nightshade” in the My Digital Enemy Beatport Play Competition. Check it out and let us know what you think, perhaps a vote if you’re feeling us….

Outside of the studio we have been fairly busy this fall with shows including performing for our 4th time at Northcoast Music Festival. A couple weeks ago we were also fortunate enough to head up north to Grand Rapids and spin alongside long time friend Sean Boney for the #Bassbin party at Billy’s Lounge. This was the second time we played the party at it was also the second time it blew our minds. Over 300 people out on a Monday Night! On the show front of things we are excited to be a part of the #Afterlife underground warehouse series beginning on Oct 17th. The show will feature International Headliners- DJ Icey & Keith MacKenzie along with us, Bentley Dean, Dbot, Nikho, GoodSex, Russ Christopher, & B.Hebda. Halloween is just a few weeks away and we have two awesome shows on Friday & Saturday. All the info is still being worked out but what we can say is we will be opening for Bad Boy Bill at H.O.M.E. on the 30th & Playing W/ Mixin Marc & DJ Cross on Halloween at Potter’s in Naperville!
