Exclusive Interview: 3RD Prototype

This week in the Artist Spotlight we have 3RD Prototype from Poland. These guys have put out tracks that have been supported by the likes of Sidney Samson, Borgore, DVBBS & many more. They have released tracks on many big labels. Their most recent release came out on Lazy Rich’s Big Fish Records and is titled Blinded. We got a chance to have a little chat with 3RD Prototype, read the interview below and check out some of their tunes. 

When did you first begin DJing/Producing?

We’re producing/djing for about 3 years.

Who is your biggest influence(s)?

It’s hard to say, we’re really getting inspired by many of the top artists. There is no one i could point.

What’s your favorite record of all time?

Lazy Rich & Hot Mouth – Flash, Deorro – 5 hours

What was your favorite party of all time that you have played?

The first gig was the one i wont never forget. There was like 500 people only, but you just can’t forget that feeling.

Who do you want to collaborate with in the future?

We would to collab with GTA  or newcomers like KSHMR or Martin Garrix.
What’s the most embarrassing thing thats happened to you at a show?

We don’t remember anything THAT embarassing, but cue button in the middle of the track always hurts. Happened to us once, never again hopefully.

What do you like to do when you’re not working on music/DJing?

We’re just simply being with our family/friends. We both love to play computer games, soccer or volleyball. Just a regular life things.
What is your opinion on the current EDM scene?

EDM have a massive audience right now. It’s really cool, there is a way more people that are enjoying this music and stuff connected with it.

The problem is that its becoming a McDonald’s of music, there is a lot of new producers that are following the trends and it’s really bad occurrence for our industry. We’re not into quality, but into quantity.

What do you think will be the next big thing in EDM?

It’s really hard to say whats gonna happen, some old sounds are coming back again and this is what’s on the top right now. Hopefully Hardstyle could come back to it’s old popularity.

What do you think about all these “frauds” in the EDM scene using ghost producers, buying likes and purchasing their own tracks on Beatport?

It is really a problem right now, there is a tons of guys who are trying to make it to the top buy using their money. Hopefully truth about it will be revealed about every “producer” some day. It’s really bad for industry and it should be repressed.

Is there any upcoming releases/shows we should keep an eye out for?

We have our collab with Daav One to be released on Lazy Rich’s Big Fish Recorgins. We just signed for another release, bunch of collabs are on way and we’ve done some originals too. So there is a lot of stuff that are coming. More info will be revealed soon!
